Overview

Many students take basic science courses in high school, especially if they are honor students or in advance classes. To be better prepared for the college level science course, students may need a refresher – depending on when they took the courses. For students who have not taken any science courses, taking an introductory summer session will help to reduce the anxiety of not knowing what to expect. During the sessions, they become more familiar with the terminology, are introduced to terms and definitions, and they enter the course with a level of confidence that they can be successful. ACE offers four half-day tutoring sessions in Biology, Chemistry, and Organic Chemistry. These sessions are available during the summer or winter break.

Basic Biology

Students get a review/overview of basic biology concepts that include vocabulary, and topics normally covered during the course throughout the semester. The goal is to familiarize students with vocabulary and concepts they will encounter in basic biology; to be able to recall topics from biology and develop a stronger foundation for starting a biology class.

Intro to Basic Chemistry
